We Will Stop The Forced Closure Of A&e And Maternity Units And Gp Surgeries
The NHS is David Cameron’s number one priority and is a central campaign issue for me in Hazel Grove. Conservatives are absolutely committed to an NHS which is free at the point of use. I myself have had to depend on the NHS many times and I do not wish to see anyone have to dig out their wallet or credit card to get access to healthcare. The NHS is one of the great things about our country and something that fills me with great pride.
However, the NHS does need to change and is in need of urgent reform. The billions of extra Pounds injected into the health service from this moribund Labour government have yielded some improvements, but no where near as much as you would expect given the amount of cash pumped in over the last 10 years. Conservatives will end the culture of bureaucratic top-down targets within the NHS and give more power and control to health professionals such as doctors and nurses to do what they do best – treat and look after patients. That way, by reallocating resources and using them more efficiently, we can stop the forced closure of vital frontline health services such as GP surgeries, maternity units and Accident & Emergency Departments.
