Annesley Will Fight For The A6 Bypass So That Congestion Is Reduced And That The Quality Of People’s Lives In The Area Is Improved
I am pleased that the A555 link road between Manchester Airport and Hazel Grove has been given the go ahead. That represents two thirds of the project. The A6 bypass (one third of it) was started by the former Conservative government and was cancelled when Labour came to power. Theresa Villiers, the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, visited Hazel Grove and the A6 last year and she said that she would look very carefully at the prospect of completing this project. I will certainly be fighting hard on this issue if elected to the House of Commons and be pushing for the rest of this road to be built. We need to relieve congestion on the AG and give Hazel Grove its village feel again.
