Prospective Conservative MP for Hazel Grove Annesley Abercorn has stated categorically that he will not claim for a second home if elected as MP for Hazel Grove. He said, ‘‘I will not charge the taxpayer a penny for a second home despite the contituency being nearly 200 miles away from Westminster. I can afford to pay for it myself by having some basic accommodation locally like where I live at the moment in Romiley.’’

Annesley said, ‘If elected as the MP for Hazel Grove, I will not claim a penny from the Communications Allowance and call for it to be scrapped’’ Already that represents a saving of over £30,000 per year if Annesley gets elected as MP for Hazel Grove. No claims for a second home and no claims from the Communications Allowance*

Annesley added ‘’No furniture, no food, no treats, no communications allowance, no John Lewis. That is my pledge to the people of Hazel Grove if I get elected.’’

*Under House of Commons rules, MPs can claim up to £24,000 per year for a second home and up to £10,000 per year to send out glossy MP newsletters to local people. Annesley will not claim a penny from these allowances if elected.
