  • Posted on the 24th February 2009

On Friday the 13th of February Annesley visited Aquinas College to give a talk about British politics to the A-level students studying Politics. Annesley spoke about how and why he entered politics as a teenager, his experience at Westminster and the current political situation in Britain today. The Parliamentary Candidate for Hazel Grove was really impressed with the intelligent and sophisticated questions posed by the Aquinas students regarding British domestic politics, and believes many of the students might have prospective careers at Westminster! Annesley stated that “”I really enjoyed visiting Aquinas College recently. We had an engaging Question and Answer session about various British political issues from climate change to Europe. The students I met were very articulate and intelligent. I think there might be a few future MPs studying at Aquinas today!”.

Opposing Stockport Council’s Decision To Give Planning Permission For The High Lane Service Reservoir

  • Posted on the 3rd February 2009

This reservoir would have several negative consequences for the local community

1.  The proposed site and desins are not in keeping with the properties in the immediate area, the 8m tall structure that will have to be built will be intolerable for the mainly elderly community.
2.  Construction work will continue till 11pm each night, creating a great deal of noise and pollution to the local community.  There will be heavy diggers, lorries etc that would restrict the locals view, upon completion the structure would restrict enjoyment of morning daylight.

3.  There are far more suitable sites that would cause much less trouble to the local, elderly community.
4.  The local environment will be adversely affected, numerous animals such as badgers, bats, newts, hares and plant life could be harmed.
5.  United Utilities have failed to provide a scale drawing or artists impression of what the finished work will look like.
